Miami Gardens Claims Adjuster

Miami Dade Claims

With a population of over 105 thousand people, Miami Gardens is the third largest city in the largest county (Miami-Dade) in Florida. Located in the north-central corner of the county, the city is midway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. A relatively small area, the city encompasses about 20 square miles.

Home to Dolphin Stadium where the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Marlins play, the town attracts millions of tourists each year. Miami Gardens also has a vibrant shopping district that focuses on furniture and automobiles.

The local population is incredibly diverse and has solid working-class roots. Most are minorities that migrated from Miami during the late 1960s. About 90 percent of the residents describe themselves as either “African American” or “Hispanic,” which makes the town one of the most diverse in all of Florida.

Like most of the cities in Broward County, Miami Gardens has seen its fair share of inclement weather in recent years. After all, it is located in a region that has a tropical monsoon climate. Not to mention the fact that it is at the tip of the largest peninsula in the United States and is in close proximity to the Caribbean.

Storms that form in this region regularly make landfall. Whether tropical storms or hurricanes, these tempests can and do cause damage to homes and buildings in the area. The best way to protect physical structures from driving rain and high winds is to install storm windows and panels. It is also important to update your insurance coverage.

Property insurance will cover most of the damage that is a direct result of a storm. However, it may not pay for repairs that are caused by inundation. When nearby lakes and streams overflow and flood your basement or wash away your abode, homeowner’s insurance may not cover it. Depending on where you live, you may have to purchase a separate flood insurance policy.
